چکیده

Rationale and objective Improving diet quality while decreasing environmental impacts is an important challenge for a healthy sustainable food system. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the most common dietary patterns per female household member explore of these patterns. Methodology The nationally representative General Nutrition Survey 2009–2010 ( n = 8,225 households) was used derive using principal component analysis (PCA) based on 18 groups as input variables. Quintiles highest adherence (Q5) lowest (Q1) were generated factor score each pattern. Nutrient adequacy diversity scores (DDS) calculated measure quality, greenhouse gas emission (GHGE) blue water use (BWU) selected impact indicators. Results Using PCA, three distinct identified: Omnivorous, Traditional, Pescatarian Compared Traditional pattern, Omnivorous (Q5s) associated with higher nutrient adequacy, mean probability 0.51 in both patterns, compared 0.45 However, terms GHGE BWU 2,000 kcal considerably pattern (6.14 kg CO 2 -eq. 0.15 m 3 /kg) all other pattern’s Q5s. (4.18 -eq.) has (0.12 /kg). Conclusion Despite that slightly better average total population, also higher. future research needed develop more optimal considers trade-offs between impact.

The link between dietary glycemic index and nutrient adequacy.

BACKGROUND Low-glycemic index (low-GI) diets may be less nutritious because of limited food choices. Alternately, high-GI diets could be less healthful because of a higher intake of refined carbohydrate. OBJECTIVE The objective was to investigate the association between dietary GI, intakes of carbohydrates from high-GI (CHO(high GI)) and low-GI (CHO(low GI)) sources, and the risk of nutrient ...
